Pan Masters 2008 “Engine Room” Rhythm Competition Download the Competition Registration Form Rules and Regulations: This competition will take place during the course of the Pan Masters Steelband Jamboree on May 25th 2008, at 4509 Rhode Island Avenue, North Brentwood MD (two blocks south of ‘De panyard’). This competition is open to all individuals, regardless of age or gender. Each rhythm section must have at least 3 members, but no more than 8 per group. All percussive instruments, conventional or homemade may be used. Any one individual may play more than one instrument, provided they are mounted to a major percussion instrument, i.e. cow bell attached to congas etc. A competitor/s may not compete in more than one rhythm section per competition. Each group will be required to perform for 5 minutes. Registration: All competitors must be registered before the beginning or the steelband jamboree. Competitors are encouraged to Pre-register before the date of the competition so that Pan Masters may have an idea of the number of groups wishing to compete. In an effort to judge the contest objectively and equally, the following criteria will be considered by the judges and assigned a point value in each area.
